Besiktas ‘to sign’ Darwin Nunez on loan as Al Hilal weigh temporary fix | OneFootball

Besiktas are closing in on a loan deal for Al Hilal forward Darwin Nunez this summer as they seek to bolster their frontline.

According to Goal.com, an initial agreement on a loan for the 27-year-old is in place after Al Hilal did not receive a satisfactory permanent offer, with Besiktas expected to open talks with his agent within hours to settle terms and with plans to pair him alongside South Korea forward Hyun-gyu Oh, while Nunez wants a return to Europe amid a strained relationship with coach Simone Inzaghi.

Nunez joined Al Hilal in summer 2025 from Liverpool for 53 million euros and has not matched expectations in Saudi Arabia.

He earns 22 million euros a year before bonuses, and Besiktas are proposing to cover 80% of his wages during the loan, roughly 17.5 million euros.

At the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, he started only one of three matches. At club level he had also lost his place to France forward Karim Benzema.
