Chelsea suffered a 3-0 heavy defeat to Everton in the Premier League at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday.
The Blues started the game nervy, and Robert Sanchez almost gifted Everton the opener after Beto caught him on the ball, but the goalkeeper recovered to clear the danger away.
In the 33rd minute, Beto broke the deadlock after he was played in behind by James Garner, and he finished beyond Sanchez with a lovely chip.
Chelsea almost responded immediately as Enzo Fernandez was denied from close range by Jordan Pickford.
Both sides failed to create any other clear-cut chance, and the Toffees went into the break with the lead.
On the hour mark, he thought he had restored parity for the Blues after his curling effort nestled towards the far corner, but Pickford palmed away his effort.
However, two minutes later, Beto doubled the host’s advantage after he was picked out by Idrissa Gueye, and he drilled his strike through the legs of Sanchez.
In the 68th minute, Fernandez could’ve pulled one back for the Blues after he teed up with Joao Pedro in the area, but he was denied again by Pickford.
Moments later, Estevao Willian almost scored an olimpico, but his effort struck the top of the bar.
In the 76th minute, Illiman Ndiaye completed the scoring after he got onto Beto’s flicked header, and he curled in a fine finish into the top corner.
Everton secured valuable points in their quest for European football, while Chelsea remain sixth and missed the chance to move into the top four.
