Jadon Sancho is reportedly ready to seal yet another return to Borussia Dortmund ahead of his Manchester United contract expiring.

The winger will draw the curtains on his lacklustre five-year Old Trafford tenure at the end of June, having only actually played for United for two seasons.

United ready to wash their hands of Sancho

Previously, reports had suggested the Red Devils were considering activating the 12-month option in Sancho’s contract, purely to try and receive a fee from his departure by selling him this summer.

They have since U-turned on the decision, however, after accepting that it was highly unlikely any clubs would shell out for him.

The 25-year-old is currently spending the campaign on loan with Aston Villa, where he has once again failed to make a notable impact and is now reduced to just being an off-the-bench option for Unai Emery.

In the 30 Premier League matches Villa have played, Sancho has started only seven times, and has racked up only 694 top-flight minutes across 18 appearances.

He has yet to open his account in the league and has provided only one assist.

Sancho and Dortmund: What’s being said?

BILD claims the player ‘dreams’ of reviving his career with the Bundesliga outfit, where he enjoyed the most prolific form of his senior career thus far.

Dortmund, meanwhile, have set their sights on him due to the impending exit of Julian Brandt, who’s out of contract in June, and the fact that they can get Sancho for free; they earned a whopping £73 million from his departure in 2021.
