Blues have sold out the home sections of St. Andrew's ahead of Hull City's upcoming visit

A fresh ticketing announcement from Birmingham City has only backed up the belief that the building of an expected 62,000-seater stadium in the coming years makes sense.

Blues' fanbase has notoriously been one of the most vocal and passionate in English football throughout history - a trend which has failed to nosedive even throughout recent bleak times at St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park prior to the well-documented takeover of Knighthead Capital Management in July 2023.

The West Midlands outfit's current and future plans under American ownership - spearheaded by the extremely vocal Tom Wagner - have been made clear on both sides of the Atlantic, with the majority owner, alongside stakeholder and NFL icon, Tom Brady, desperate to keep growing the club's stature and its overall brand by any means necessary.

On the pitch, it has been an extremely dramatic two-year period to say the least, with Birmingham suffering relegation to League One for the first time since 1995 during Wagner's first season overseeing matters in the B9 boardroom, before completely nailing the appointment of Chris Davies last June ahead of a record-breaking campaign in so many ways, which eventually culminated in an all-time EFL high of 111 points from 46 league games.

As such, many outsiders were intrigued to see how Blues would perform upon their quick return to the Championship.

Despite many predictions of at least a play-off place - if not, automatic promotion - it has been a rather mixed start as Davies' side sit 16th after nine games played, albeit a total of 12 points is only seven behind league leaders, Coventry City.

Yet, as inconsistent as performances have been in recent weeks, the same can't be said in terms of attendance figures, which continue to excel ahead of Saturday's home clash with Hull City.

After selling out the home allocation at St Andrew's almost every week last season, such was the feel-good factor and investment which had gone into making the historic ground a 'fortress', such feats have been achieved at every home encounter in the Championship too.

Tickets for the upcoming encounter against the Tigers went on sale last month, with all home tickets inside the 29,409-capacity stadium taken up approximately five days before Sergej Jakirovic's side make the two-hour journey down to the West Midlands from East Yorkshire.

In an attempt to increase positivity after a run of just one win since August 23rd in all competitions for Davies' side, Birmingham's official account posted on X, the simple message of: "The record continues."

"Every home league game this season = 𝙎𝙊𝙇𝘿 𝙊𝙐𝙏," the post ended, paying tribute to the unwavering support showcased by those in the blue half of the second city, with Blues averaging home gates of 27,404 against Ipswich Town, Oxford United, Swansea City and Sheffield Wednesday thus far.

This comes at a time when the groundwork for the upcoming 'Sports Quarter' project, less than a mile away from St. Andrew's, continues to be put in place.

Knighthead's ambitious plans of the sporting, retail and commercial complex - which will provide approximately 8,400 jobs at an estimated cost of £2-3bn - were effectively green-lighted in June as government funding for a nearby tram extension was approved, with the East Birmingham redevelopment project expected to be finished by June 2030.

Birmingham City could achieve major St. Andrew's milestone vs Hull City

Not only would a third home win in five in front of another sold-out crowd provide enough motivation for Davies' players, but so would the chance to reach a major unbeaten milestone.

Blues kept alive an unbeaten home league run of 29 games with Demarai Gray's 99th-minute equaliser against the Owls on September 30th - a run which stretches further back than the 40-year-old's appointment.

The last side to emerge victorious in a league fixture at St. Andrew's were Cardiff City on 10th April 2024, and the run could reach 30 against Hull on Saturday afternoon.
