Birmingham City are leading the race for Djurgarden striker August Priske this January
Birmingham City are reportedly leading the race for towering Danish forward August Priske this January, with European sides such as Besiktas and Lille also tracking the 21-year-old.
According to Danish publication Tipsbladet, Birmingham are currently in the driving seat for the signing of young Danish striker August Priske this January, but faces competition from other clubs across the continent for his signature.
At 21, Priske spent time in the youth systems of FC Copenhagen, FC Midtjylland, and PSV Eindhoven before his move to the Swedish outfit Djurgården in August 2024, where he has made an explosive impact.
Priske scored 23 goals and grabbed three assists in 43 appearances for Djurgarden across all competitions during the 2025 campaign, and now looks set to take the next step, with Birmingham leading the way for his capture.

Indeed, Birmingham are reportedly leading the likes of Besiktas and Lille for the signature of Priske this January.
Standing at six-foot-five-inches tall, Priske's aerial threat is evident by his stature, and with Birmingham head coach Chris Davies preferring a physical specimen up top, such as Marvin Ducksch and Lyndon Dykes, the Dane fits the bill.
An Under-21 youth international with Denmark, Priske was the subject of a €4 million bid from Austrian side RB Salzburg last summer, though that was rejected.
Birmingham have outlined their intentions for achieving Premier League football as soon as possible, and the addition of Priske would be another statement of intent by the Blues, who have not been afraid to spend money in recent times.
Whether they can convince Priske to make the move to England's second city remains to be seen, as they will have to beat the likes of Besiktas and Lille to his signature to do so.
Though they will be confident in their abilities to convince the young Dane, with the direction of the club only looking up, with the owners, the stadium, the fanbase, and the prospect of Premier League football in the coming years no doubt a huge factor in how they may convince him to choose the Blues as his next destination.

Birmingham have already been active this winter window, having made the addition of German left-back Kai Wagner from MLS side Philadelphia Union.
Though they seem far from done there, with a move for Gambian star Abdoulie Manneh, who currently plies his trade for fellow Swedish side and champions Mjallby, having fallen through.
Manneh played a starring role in the Swedish minnows' historic league triumph last campaign, scoring seven and assisting three in 28 appearances, though the reason for his collapsed move to England remains unknown for now.
With Lyndon Dykes seemingly free to leave the club this window, with the likes of Ipswich Town, Leicester City, and Charlton Athletic all reportedly interested in the Scottish striker, a vacancy up top will become available, and Priske may be the man to fill it.
