Police searched nearby undergrowth and found items believed to belong to him. At around 10.30am on 29 March, officers found a body. His family have been informed.

In a social media post, the club expressed deep sadness, thanked supporters in Derby and Birmingham and both West Midlands and Derbyshire Police for their efforts, and offered condolences to his family, friends and loved ones.

Fans left messages of condolence, with some proposing an 18th-minute applause at Friday's home game as a mark of respect. Others called for recognition of Derby volunteers who helped organise the search.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and there is not believed to be any third-party involvement. A file is being prepared for the coroner.
