Birmingham City and QPR are both looking to end their three-game losing streaks on Wednesday evening

Birmingham City’s promotion hopes suffered a massive setback on Saturday with a 1-0 loss away to Charlton Athletic.

A 74th minute strike from Charlie Kelman sealed all three points for Nathan Jones’ side, which came as a big boost in their bid for survival in the Championship.

But the Blues are now 12th in the table after their third defeat in a row, eight points adrift of sixth place Wrexham and the Red Dragons also have a game in hand.

Meanwhile, Julien Stéphan is under pressure at QPR following the team’s fourth loss in five games on Sunday, with the team conceding four to Middlesbrough without reply.

The London outfit are 16th in the table, 12 clear of the relegation zone and 10 adrift of the play-offs, leaving them firmly mid-table.

Both sides will be seeking a return to winning ways when they meet each other on 11 March at St. Andrew’s, with Chris Davies and Stéphan facing a lot of scrutiny due to recent results.

These two clubs are at risk of their respective seasons petering out, and will need a result to keep their faint hopes of competing for a play-off place alive.

The Blues earned promotion last year, and their ambitions for this campaign were to again be in the mix for at least a top six finish, so recent form has Davies under a lot of pressure.

Meanwhile, Stéphan was appointed as manager in the summer with the goal of improving on the team’s 15th place finish in the table, which they are now at risk of failing to do.

QPR will travel to face Birmingham on Wednesday night in a 7.45pm kick-off, as they both look to get back to winning ways.

The Hoops won the reverse fixture in December, earning all three points with a 2-1 victory at Loftus Road.

How to watch Birmingham City v QPR

Birmingham will host QPR on Wednesday night in another full round of midweek Championship action.

The game will be shown live on Sky Sports through the Sky Sports Plus channel, which is available to anyone with a full sports package as part of their Sky subscription.

There will be limited pre-match coverage, with the broadcast set to get underway at 7.40pm, although there will be some in-studio discussion of the midweek fixtures on Sky Sports Main Event prior to Stoke City’s clash against Coventry City, which begins at 7.30pm.

The game can also be streamed for those with a NOW TV account, as a subscription to the Sports package will give access to the broadcast.

Birmingham could climb as high as ninth in the second division table if they can get back to winning ways on Wednesday night, although it will depend on results elsewhere.

Meanwhile, QPR could leapfrog Davies’ side with a victory at St. Andrew’s, which would give them the chance to get back into the top half of the standings, if results in the other games also go in their favour.

The Hoops could even climb as high as 11th with a win, with their last victory coming against Hull City on 21 February.
