The Cabin in Sedgley will not screen England’s World Cup bronze match against France on Saturday night. The pub will shut early after trouble involving a small number of customers at recent games.
The pub said in a Facebook post that it regretted the move, but last orders would be at 8.45pm to protect its family and community atmosphere.
It wants the venue to remain a safe, welcoming place for families, friends, neighbours, staff and customers, and says violence, aggression, threats or intimidation will not be tolerated.
The stance was that a minority should not spoil things for the wider community, and supporters were thanked for understanding as steps are taken to keep the pub friendly and secure.
Fans had been packing into the Alderwood Precinct venue, off Northway, to follow England’s run. The third or fourth place play-off in Miami is due to kick off at 10pm BST.
The decision was also framed as giving staff who have dealt with recent disorder the chance to enjoy one match.
