Black Country pub will not screen England’s World Cup third-place play-off after fan behaviour | OneFootball

A Sedgley pub has pulled the plug on screening England’s World Cup third-place play-off against France on Saturday, 18 July, and will call last orders at 8.45pm, citing the conduct of a small minority of customers, the venue said in a Facebook post.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 10pm BST in Miami. The Cabin is based in Alderwood Precinct, off Northway, in Sedgley.

The venue described itself as a family and community pub and said safeguarding that environment comes first. It set out a zero tolerance stance on violence, aggression, threats or intimidation.

It argued the behaviour of a small minority should not spoil things for the wider community. The post thanked customers for their support and said staff who had dealt with recent issues deserved the chance to enjoy one match.

Supporters had packed the pub throughout the tournament, including the 2-0 win over Panama on 27 June.
