FLW's Blackburn Rovers fan pundit shares their thoughts on what the biggest change the way the club should be run is

Blackburn Rovers head into their ninth consecutive season in the Championship, and their 15th outside the top flight, as the mood around the club remains downbeat.

Blackburn scraped survival by the skin of their teeth last time around courtesy of the excellent firefighter skills of Northern Irish boss Michael O'Neill, as the former Stoke City manager has since returned to his post with the Northern Ireland men's national team after turning down a permanent deal at Ewood Park.

Tony Mowbray has since stepped in to take the reins once again, with the 62-year-old working tirelessly to improve Rovers' squad heading into the next campaign, even paying a visit to the Venkys in Switzerland in a bid to secure some more funds this window.

Moussa Baradji's loan deal became permanent before Mowbray's arrival, as Jayden Fevrier has since joined from Stockport County, and Sam Morsy on a free transfer as their only additions this summer so far.

With Sondre Tronstad, Eiran Cashin, and Ryan Hedges yet to be adequately replaced, another year of struggles appears to be inevitable, with frustration only continuing to grow and persist throughout the fanbase.

Football League World's Blackburn fan pundit, Simon Middlehurst, has shared their opinion on what the biggest change they would make at the club if they could, with the answer likely the same from the majority of the supporters.

Simon told FLW: "The biggest change that I would make to the way the club is run is simple. Get rid of the Venky's, and also get rid of Suhail Pasha and Rudy Gestede.

"It is no secret at all that the fans are at the end of their tether when it comes to Venky's, and also them too, especially the last couple of years of how things have gone.

"The budget has been cut massively, the squad has been cut massively, and just everything about the club just feels wrong. So that would be the biggest thing.

"Get rid of the Venkys, and get rid of them (Pasha & Gestede) too. They're just poison to the club."

Since the Venkys completed a full takeover of Blackburn back in November 2010, the club has been on a downward spiral ever since.

It would take them just over a year to oversee the club's relegation to the Championship in 2012, where, aside from one year in League One, they have remained ever since, rarely threatening with a return to the top flight during that period.

Jordan Rhodes' £8 million move from Huddersfield Town 14 years ago remains the biggest fee spent under the Venky's ownership, with the lack of funds and investment into the club frustrating and estranging supporters.

COO Suhail Pasha and head of football operations Rudy Gestede have done little to win over supporters either, as Blackburn, barring any unforeseen investment between now and the end of the window, look set to struggle in the Championship once again.

Until change is had at the very top, Blackburn's hopes of a Premier League return one day remain slim, and that feeling is likely echoed by the fanbase.

As Mowbray prepares his Blackburn squad for the upcoming campaign, he has a huge job on his hands of keeping the team afloat.

Rumours of exits for the likes of Balazs Toth and Ryan Alebiosu continue to persist, and replacing either of them late on in the window is a near impossible task.

With pre-season done and the campaign underway, few will envy Mowbray's position right now, as the veteran manager must work some magic to get the Rovers safe from a survival scrap this year.
