Sheffield United could pursue former Leeds winger Jack Clarke this summer as Chris Wilder continues favouring ex-Elland Road players.

According to The Star, Bramall Lane chiefs had looked at the 25-year-old before and could revive talks while seeking an out-and-out left winger.

Wilder has leaned on Elland Road alumni, recruiting Jamie Shackleton in 2024, then adding Patrick Bamford on a free in November before extending his deal by 18 months in January.

That same month United brought in 2024/25 Championship title-winner Joe Rothwell from Rangers and former Leeds youngster Leo Hjelde on loan from Sunderland.

Clarke made 16 goals and one assist for automatically promoted Ipswich this season, but started only half of their 46 league matches and might slip down the order if heavy Premier League recruitment follows.

He burst through for Leeds at Aston Villa in December 2018, scoring 10 minutes after coming on as the comeback from 2-0 down finished 3-2 with Kemar Roofe netting in the 95th minute.

After two league goals under Marcelo Bielsa and a play-off semi-final loss to Derby County, he joined Tottenham Hotspur in a £10m move, returning to Elland Road on loan.

That loan ended in late December 2019, then came spells at QPR, Stoke City and League One Sunderland, before a permanent switch to the Black Cats in summer 2022.

Three years later he moved to Ipswich for £15m and has 19 goals in 85 appearances across league and cups.
