Laura Blindkilde Brown has ben shortlisted for the 2025/26 PFA Women's Young Player of the Year award.
The midfielder is on a six-player shortlist alongside Chelsea duo Veerle Buurman and Alyssa Thompson, London City Lionesses’ Freya Godfrey, Tottenham defender Toko Koga and Arsenal’s Olivia Smith.
Blindkilde Brown enjoyed her finest season to date with the Blues, with only Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw featuring more across the entire campaign.
Operating in a midfield two, predominantly with Yui Hasegawa, the youngster excelled in a slightly deeper role under Andrée Jeglertz.
Her anticipation and energy shone in defensive situations, also affording Hasegawa greater freedom to get forward than in previous seasons, while on the ball she showed a typical level of composure and creativity to keep City ticking.
Winning the September Etihad Player of the Month award, Blindkilde Brown added to her scoring tally for City in a 4-1 win over London City Lionesses.
And while the midfielder was a consistent performer across the entire campaign, her form towards the end of the season was again crucial as the Blues edged closer to both the WSL title and FA Cup glory.
Her inclusion on this shortlist, with the final prize voted for by her fellow professionals, is recognition of that development over 2025/26.
The England international will discover if she’s come out on top at the PFA awards ceremony, taking place on Tuesday 25 August.
Everyone at City would like to congratulate Laura on making the PFA Young Player of the Year shortlist.
