Bo Svensson rejects two job offers | OneFootball

Former Mainz and Union Berlin head coach Bo Svensson has rejected two job offers.

Florian Plettenberg reports that Union Saint-Gilloise had identified the Dane as a successor to Sébastien Pocognoli – who was appointed as AS Monaco’s head coach on Sunday – but he declined the offer after wanting to bring in his own coaching staff.

Additionally, Svensson was of interest to Rangers, who recently dismissed Russell Martin. The 46-year-old, who was behind Steven Gerrard in their list of candidates, decided against joining the Scottish side.

Svensson has been without a club since December 2024 after Union Berlin decided to part ways with their former head coach after a run of eight games without a win. The tactician was only in charge of 16 games averaging 1.13 points per match, per Transfermarkt, but was regarded as an up-and-coming manager within the Bundesliga after an impressive spell at Mainz, where he oversaw 104 games, losing only 39 times.
