Boca will be allowed to bring away supporters to Thursday’s match against Defensa y Justicia at the Norberto Tito Tomaghello, after an initial safety-driven refusal from the local municipality was reversed.
This morning, Defensa y Justicia president Diego Lemme said: “The chance of playing with away fans against Boca is 100% off.” He added: “When we hosted visiting fans there were no problems. They believe security cannot take charge of the match because of threats in schools. It is understandable.” He told D-Sports Radio.
Following those remarks, Lemme met local authorities and, after several hours of talks, an agreement was reached for Boca supporters to attend. The club later confirmed the game will include an away allocation, with around 3,000 tickets for visiting fans.
The fixture, part of round 16 of the Torneo Apertura 2026, is scheduled for Thursday 23 April at 20:00 in Florencio Varela.
Claudio Úbeda’s side head to Varela after victory over River at the Monumental, targeting three important points. Boca have 24 points in Zona A and a win against Defensa y Justicia could secure a place in the playoffs.
While also focusing on the Copa Libertadores, Úbeda’s team remain among the leading sides in their group, aiming to lock in a privileged seeding to gain an advantage in the next phase.
