Boca began their 2026 pre-season on Friday 2 January at Ezeiza, with the Copa Libertadores the clear priority.
According to LaNumer12.com.ar, Javier García will extend his deal until December 2026, although the club have not announced it.
Claudio Úbeda led the first session with 31 players, following routine medicals. The plan is demanding, with double training on most days in week one.
The group was largely unchanged from last season, but three players have departed. Frank Fabra, Cristian Lema and Ignacio Miramón left after their contracts expired on 31 December.
There have been no new arrivals. Players returning from loans worked separately and were not treated as part of the main group.
Keeping García provides continuity and experience in a pivotal year. He remains an option behind Agustín Marchesín, with Leandro Brey the first understudy, as the market currently shows more exits than additions.
