CONMEBOL’s disciplinary tribunal has imposed heavy fines and measures on Boca after multiple infringements during their match away to Cruzeiro in Brazil.
According to LaNumer12.com.ar, the tribunal fined the club USD 100,000 for breaching article 15.2 of the Disciplinary Code, which penalises discriminatory and racist behaviour by supporters. The sum will be deducted automatically from television and sponsorship revenues.
Boca must also run an anti-discrimination campaign at their next home game. A banner must be shown at the team line-up and the phrase "EL RESPETO ES TITULAR" displayed on the giant screen, plus three days of posts on official social channels.
A further USD 5,000 fine was issued for failing to meet article 7.3.4.1 of the CONMEBOL Libertadores 2026 Club Manual, relating to compulsory post-match flash interviews.
The tribunal issued a formal warning for breaching article 11.2, item m), covering delays to kick-off or restarts. Any repeat would bring harsher punishment under article 27.
Boca have seven days to appeal to CONMEBOL’s Appeals Commission, subject to a USD 3,000 fee paid in advance.
Their final match of the semester is on Thursday at 21:30 against Universidad Católica at the Estadio Alberto J. Armando. They must win to reach the last 16, otherwise they will be eliminated. Colombian Wilmar Roldán will referee, with assistants Alexander Guzmán and Cristian Aguirre, fourth official Carlos Ortega, and VAR officials David Rodríguez and Jhon Leon.
