Boca have stepped up their window plans by submitting a formal bid for San Lorenzo centre-back Jhohan Romaña.
According to LaNumer12.com.ar, the offer is worth three million dollars to purchase 100 percent of the 27-year-old Colombian’s registration.
Boca currently have a foreign slot following the departure of Ander Herrera and Adam Bareiro’s recent naturalisation. Romaña has entered the final six months of his deal, so FIFA rules allow him to negotiate a pre-contract.
San Lorenzo’s debts to their squad aid Boca’s chances, with the board opting for a diplomatic approach and a highly tempting number to avoid friction. The defender views the opportunity as a significant step up.
Romaña emerged at Independiente Medellín, winning a title before moving abroad. He later gained experience in Paraguay and MLS, then arrived in Argentina and established himself as captain. His form earned him a place in Colombia’s preliminary squad for the 2026 World Cup under Néstor Lorenzo.
His arrival would reshape Boca’s right-sided centre-back picture. Lautaro Di Lollo currently starts in that role, with Nicolás Figal close behind. The hierarchy anticipate imminent offers for the youngster, prompting a move to add reliable competition.
On the pitch, Romaña brings imposing physicality, recovery pace and bite in duels. The key question is his adaptation to a proactive side that defends higher and takes greater risks than San Lorenzo.
