Boca will relocate their Torneo Clausura home match with Estudiantes to Huracán’s Estadio Tomás Adolfo Ducó instead of La Bombonera.

According to LaNumer12.com.ar, the board chaired by Juan Román Riquelme approved the switch after a worrying showing on a recently reseeded area during the Copa Sudamericana round of 32 first leg, prioritising player safety and normal conditions.

Rodolfo Arruabarrena’s side are due to host Estudiantes de La Plata on Wednesday 5 August in the second round of the Clausura, a fixture rescheduled because Boca had to play their continental second leg, which they won to progress.

A section of the La Bombonera pitch remains in poor condition.

Boca visit Newell’s in Rosario this weekend, then meet Estudiantes, before hosting Vélez four days later. That Vélez game could be brought forward by one day because CONMEBOL set the Sudamericana last 16 first leg for Tuesday 11 August.

Beyond Estudiantes, the Vélez match would also be staged away from La Bombonera, with Tomás Adolfo Ducó a firm option though not yet confirmed. The continental tie against Recoleta could likewise be moved from the Alberto J. Armando.

The club will issue an official statement in the coming hours to inform members, with attention on how tickets will be allocated to members and season-ticket holders.
