Tottenham return to familiar surroundings as they face Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Part of the reason for Spurs earning a seat at Europe’s top table was their Europa League semi-final win over the Norwegian outfit, recording a 5-1 aggregate win.

History will be made as Bodo host their first-ever Champions League group game and they’ll be seeking to gain a measure of revenge on Tottenham for that Europa League loss not too long ago.

Bodo/Glimt vs Tottenham team news

Bodo captain Ulrik Saltnes, who scored against Tottenham in last season’s Europa League semi-final first-leg, is set to miss the Champions League tie through illness. He could be joined on the sidelines by Brede Moe and Bassi.

Both players suffered groin injuries in the 3-1 NM Cup win over Odd last Thursday, thus making them doubtful for the visit of Spurs.

Thomas Frank is set to be without Dominic Solanke and Randal Kolo Muani once again because of injury, while Mathys Tel is ineligible having not been registered in Tottenham’s Champions League squad.

As a result, Richarlison is set to lead the line for the visitors.

There could be changes behind the Brazilian should Frank opt for a more attack-minded approach with Xavi Simons potentially getting the nod in a more central role.

Pedro Porro is expected to return at right-back after being partially rested against Wolves at the weekend and Pape Matar Sarr is pushing for a first start since the win over Villarreal.

Tottenham, despite their struggles last season, were far too good for Bodo/Glimt when they met in the Europa League semi-final just a few months ago.

There is no denying that Spurs have improved massively under Frank, even if the weekend’s draw against Wolves highlighted a few issues with the Dane’s approach in certain games.

Still, we expect Tottenham to have too much for the Norwegian side.
