Bologna ‘to offer’ Ivan Provedel regular football, giving edge over Inter Milan | OneFootball

Bologna could hold an advantage over Inter Milan in the chase for Ivan Provedel, with regular football on offer and Lazio facing a goalkeeping logjam.

According to The Laziali, Inter are searching for an experienced option to replace Yann Sommer and back up Josep Martinez, while Atalanta might try to reunite him with Maurizio Sarri, who is edging closer to joining. Bologna could be the frontrunners because they would make him first choice.

Rossoblu general director Gianluca Sartori has reportedly put Provedel ahead of Lecce’s Wladimiro Falcone for this role. Fiorentina could also emerge if David De Gea leaves this summer.

Provedel, 32, has been Lazio’s starter since arriving from Spezia in summer 2022. This season he made 27 Serie A appearances, conceded 27 goals and kept 12 clean sheets.

His campaign ended in March through injury, opening the door for Edoardo Motta’s rise. Christos Mandas could return from Bournemouth, who appear unlikely to trigger a €17 million option. Alessio Furlanetto also impressed against Roma, pushing for more than a third-choice role.

With his contract expiring next year, many expect a summer move, and several Serie A clubs are monitoring the situation.
