Right-back Igor Vinicius and attacking midfielder Gabriel Bontempo are doubts for Santos’s friendly with União São João on Saturday at 11:00 at Pacaembu.

According to Diario Do Peixe, both continued individual physical transition work during Thursday’s double session and, despite being in the final stages, the club is taking a cautious approach.

Vinicius broke a toe and had been playing through injections in the run-in before the pause. With the fracture healed, he is being eased back. Bontempo is also focusing on muscle strengthening.

Bontempo had been an undisputed starter and showed signs of fatigue before the hiatus. The intention is to have the Menino da Vila fully fit. The rest of the squad is available.

Midfielders João Schmidt and Gabriel Menino had right hamstring issues before the break. Willian Arão had been on a strength plan, and Thaciano missed time with a right thigh problem, but both have trained normally.

Santos have one more session on Friday morning and are expected to travel to the capital to stay overnight in São Paulo ahead of Saturday’s morning kick-off.
