Bookmakers have revised their predicted final Premier League table for Leeds United after a major swing in the relegation fight. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, a big boost for one rival has prompted a change to the Whites’ outlook.

Leeds beat Burnley 3-1 on Friday night, moving nine points clear of the drop. That left them nine ahead of third-bottom Tottenham, seven ahead of fourth-bottom West Ham and four clear of fifth-bottom Nottingham Forest, with all three holding a game in hand.

West Ham then lost 3-0 at Brentford on Saturday afternoon, leaving them seven behind Leeds with just three matches to play. Defeat for the Hammers at home to Arsenal on Sunday would make United mathematically safe, and even a draw would likely suffice given goal difference.

Crystal Palace were beaten at Bournemouth on Sunday, dropping below Leeds on goal difference. Tottenham later won 2-1 at Aston Villa to climb out of the drop zone, before Forest won 3-1 at Chelsea to sit a point behind the Whites.

Tottenham are now one point ahead of West Ham and six adrift of Leeds, and they host United on Monday night. Particularly after Forest’s win, the bookies have adjusted relegation odds, resulting in a Leeds change in their latest predicted table.
