Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt full-back Nathaniel Brown in the summer transfer window.
According to The Athletic, the German champions are likely to face competition from Premier League winners Arsenal, who are also looking to add more depth to their squad.
Brown is predominantly a left-back, who can also play as a left midfielder and also on the right if needed.
The 22-year-old defender joined Frankfurt in the January window of 2024, but he returned to Nurnberg on loan for the rest of the season.
The highly-rated defender has been outstanding for Frankfurt over the past two seasons and has made over 70 appearances for the club.
In 2025-26, Brown has made 33 appearances in the Bundesliga, starting in 29 of them, registering four goals and four assists.
His impressive performances have earned him a place in Julian Nagelsmann’s World Cup squad, and could be on the move in the summer window.
Arsenal have enough depth in their left-back areas, but the Gunners could look to bring in another right-back especially if Ben White leaves.
The likes of Riccardo Calafiori, Piero Hincapie, and Myles Lewis-Skelly can play as left-back, while Jurrien Timber can also be used in that role.
Bayern probably need a young left-back, especially if Alphonso Davies is allowed to move on.
The Canadian is a world-class full-back, but he has struggled with injuries. Hiroki Ito can also play there while Tom Bischof has been used by Vincent Kompany.
Bischof is an outstanding talent, and he is likely to be used in central midfield next season with Leon Goretzka departing.
Christian Falk has told CFBayern Insider that Brown could cost in the region of £56m (65m Euros), and it is “too much” for Bayern.
While they like the defender, and find him an interesting option, the Bavarian giants are not ready to pay over the odds for Brown.
Falk said: “Frankfurt want a Transfer fee of about 65 Mio Euro. This would be too much for Bayern. The Player is interesting for the Club. But before Eberl have to Sell Hiroki Ito or Alphonso Davies.”
This could open the door for Arsenal if they want to pursue the deal for the German defender.
