Boost for Arsenal as Newcastle star is keen to leave his club this summer | OneFootball

Arsenal have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon.

The 25-year-old is reportedly keen to explore his options this summer. 

Gordon hasn’t told the Magpies he wants to leave, but he will reportedly seek a move in the upcoming transfer window (the Telegraph).

Arsenal have long admired the England international, and he has featured in recruitment planning meetings. 

Bayern Munich have also been linked, while Liverpool could revive their interest in Gordon after coming close to securing his services in 2024. 

Newcastle may allow the player to leave this summer, but they are expected to demand over £80 million for him.

Gordon has been a key player for the Magpies since joining from Everton in January 2023.

He has bagged 39 goals and 28 assists in 152 senior appearances. He played a pivotal role in his side’s League Cup success last year. 

Gordon is contracted with Newcastle until 2030, but wants to play in the Champions League. The Magpies are likely to miss out on European qualification. 

They are 14th in the league standings, 10 points adrift of fifth-placed Liverpool.
