Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise is enjoying a terrific 2026 World Cup campaign for France, and it will be a great injustice to him if he does not find himself among contenders for the Ballon d’Or this year.
Olise enjoyed a sensational 2025-26 campaign for Bayern where he netted 20 goals and provided 25 assists, helping the German side win the Bundesliga title.
The Frenchman has a contract at Bayern until 2029, and the German giants are determined to keep him at the club for years to come, as he is vital to Vincent Kompany’s plans.
Bayern have stated their stance already – Michael Olise is not for sale. At any price.
Christian Falk has exclusively told CFBayern Insider that people around Olise are allegedly saying that the Frenchman believes he can always win the Bundesliga title with Bayern, but winning the Champions League with the German club could be difficult.
The Bild journalist added that he does not see Olise signing a new contract any time soon.
Falk said: “The Michael Olise situation is getting a little bit dangerous for Bayern Munich. There are rumours around the Frenchman, where the people around him are allegedly saying that he knows he can always win the league with FC Bayern, but he’s already done this, and now he has the DFB Pokal also under his belt.
“The Champions League, meanwhile, is perhaps a little more difficult to win at Bayern Munich. There are rumours he’d like to make a transfer somewhere else, and that Real Madrid is the club he should be dreaming of. Olise doesn’t talk much, so you never know if the rumours are true. Still, the people who are talking are supposedly really close to him. This could be a problem for Bayern, because everyone knows that dissatisfied players are not good players. I don’t see the France international signing a new contract at Bayern in the near future.”
It is an open secret that Real Madrid are heavily interested in signing Michael Olise.
Florentino Perez said in May that Real Madrid would make a €150m bid for a player who does not play in the Premier League, and he most likely hinted at Olise.
Paris Saint-Germain are also keen but Madrid really want him to be a part of their project.
Falk previously told CFBayern: “Bayern want to nearly double Michael Olise’s wages in Munich as part of a deal to keep him at the club until 2031. You’ve heard the saying, if in trouble, make it double.”
The new development should come as a welcome boost for Real Madrid, but there is still enough time left for Bayern Munich to reach an agreement with Olise over a new deal.
