Borussia Dortmund managing director Lars Ricken has had a chance to comment on the incident involving Jobe Bellingham’s family over the weekend. Bellingham’s parents gained access to the BVB locker room after Dortmund’s 3-3 draw with St. Paulin their Bundesliga opener. A heated discussion with Ricken’s colleague Sebastian Kehl ensued.

“In the future, we will make sure that only players, coaches, club administrators have access to the area around the locker room,” Ricken – as quoted by transfermarkt.de – told Sky90. “That way we won’t be having to comment on such news. But everything has been set straight as of today. No drama.

“We signed Jobe Bellingham after building up a relationship of trust with his parents over many years,” Ricken continued. “The family flew in especially for their son’s first Bundesliga game and wanted to visit with Jobe after the game. They stood in the corridor on the way to the locker room and had an emotional conversation with Sebastian, but that’s no problem at all given the relationship we have.”
