Borussia Dortmund executive denies finality of Jamie Gittens’ Chelsea sale | OneFootball

In addition to commenting on Carney Chukwuemeka, Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has also spoken on Jamie Gittens’ supposed forthcoming sale to Chelsea. The BVB executive pumped the brakes on Gittens move away from the Bundesliga Kehl – quoted via Kicker – insisted that “no decision has been made yet“.

Kehl effectively confirmed that Dortmund are in intensive negotiations with the Premier League club, also insisting that there would be no deviation from his side’s original €65m asking price. With regard to the current state of BVB transfers in general, Kehl noted that “with eight weeks of transfer window left“, there was absolutely “no pressure” on his staff.

“We have given Jamie permission to hold talks with another club, which are still ongoing,” Kehl noted on Sunday morning at Dortmund’s USA-based training camp. “There are still things to be clarified. Things are moving, but no decision has been made yet.

“We were aware that the player [Gittens] has a higher market value than what was on the table two weeks ago,” Kehl continued. “We’ve exuded confidence. In the final analysis, we’ll see if we receive adequate compensation.”
