Borussia Dortmund reach breakthrough in Schlotterbeck contract talks | OneFootball

After months of negotiations, Borussia Dortmund finally appear to be closing in on a contract extension for Nico Schlotterbeck.

According to Bild, the parties have agreed on the most important points of a new deal, including the length of the contract, salary and an exit clause.

If everything goes according to plan, Schlotterbeck will extend his contract from 2027 until 2031. 

The new deal would see the centre-back earn up to €14 million per year, including bonuses, and would include a €60 million release clause, which would come into effect from 2027 onwards.

New Dortmund sporting director Nils-Ole Book is reportedly waiting for Schlotterbeck’s final commitment, with the club hoping to announce the long-awaited completion of the contract extension in early April.
