Niko Kovač’s side have enjoyed a perfect pre-season and will be keen to maintain that record before their DFB-Pokal clash at Essen next Monday.
Mats Hummels will start in what represents his farewell appearance for the club. The German defender announced his retirement from football this summer and will feature from the start, as requested by fans and the club hierarchy.
Jobe Bellingham is expected to feature after making a strong impression during the Club World Cup, where he scored on his first start against Mamelodi Sundowns. The England U-21 international has already made four appearances and switched to shirt number 7.

Several new signings could make their mark for the Bianconeri. Winger Francisco Conceição signed a permanent deal with FC Porto and will provide an attacking threat. Jonathan David has arrived on a free transfer from Lille and could lead the line.
João Mário completed his move from Porto and has been settling into training at the club’s Herzogenaurach camp
