Bournemouth are closing in on a £30.6m deal to sign highly rated Brazilian forward Rayan (19) from Vasco da Gama, as the club move quickly to reshape their attack following the departure of Antoine Semenyo, according to reports from BBC Sport.
The 19-year-old is understood to be keen on a move to the Premier League, viewing English football as the ideal platform to continue his development. Bournemouth face competition from other European clubs but are increasingly confident of landing one of Brazil’s most promising young attackers.
Rayan has been identified as a long-term successor to Semenyo, who completed a £65m switch to Manchester City last week. Should the move be completed, it would represent Bournemouth’s joint-second highest transfer fee, underlining the club’s growing ambition and willingness to invest in emerging talent.
A left-footed centre-forward capable of operating across the front line, Rayan has scored 25 goals in 99 senior appearances since breaking into Vasco’s first team. He enjoyed a standout campaign last season, netting 14 goals in Brazil’s top flight and earning regular recognition at under-20 international level.
Bournemouth have been among the most active clubs in the January window. Hungary midfielder Alex Toth has already arrived from Ferencvaros for £10.4m, while talks are ongoing with Lazio over a potential loan move for goalkeeper Christos Mandas, which would include an obligation to buy.
