West Ham United earned a point in Nuno Espírito Santo's first game in charge after initially falling behind away to Everton.
James Ward-Prowse was excluded from the Hammers squad following the new manager's arrival but Soungoutou Magassa made his first start for the club.
There wasn't too much of a change in the visitors in the first half with Everton, of course managed by former West Ham boss David Moyes, taking the lead within the first 20 minutes of the game.
The goal came from a fine delivery from the left by James Garner and it was the exact kind of ball that Michael Keane has often thrived on with the defender heading past Alphonse Aréola.
The visitors were much improved in the second half though and looked particularly dangerous down the left through Crys Summerville and El Hadji Diouf. It was the latter's bursting run down the wing that played a key role in the equaliser with just over an hour gone.
Diouf's cross from the left was headed on by the Everton defence but only into the path of Jarrod Bowen who had time to switch to his left foot and fire the ball past Jordan Pickford.
Neither side were able to push on from that point with a draw a fair result overall. Indeed, Nuno Espírito Santo will surely have seen the exact kind of football he wants to play when the rapid left side linked up.
Crystal Palace are the next visitors to the Hill Dickinson Stadium while West Ham have another tough away opponent when they face Arsenal at the Emirates.
