Brabas paid January wages, prize money still pending

Corinthians has made the payment of salaries and image rights for the month of January to the women’s team squad. According to Meu Timão, the regularization took place before the delegation’s trip to London, where the team will compete in the FIFA Women’s Club Championship, a tournament marking the first Women’s Club World Cup.

The agreement between the club and the athletes stipulates that monthly payments should be made by the 15th of each month. However, cash flow difficulties prevented the payment from being made within the deadline set at the beginning of 2026. The situation was resolved in the days leading up to the Brabas’ departure for England.

Despite the salary settlement, Corinthians still has outstanding amounts related to bonuses earned throughout last season. Bonuses for the titles in the Brazilian Championship and the Copa Libertadores remain unpaid, as well as for the runner-up campaigns in the Supercopa do Brasil and the Campeonato Paulista. Altogether, the prizes received by the club in these tournaments amount to R$ 16.4 million.

Internally, the board discussed the possibility of presenting the squad with a proposal to pay the debt in installments, with an initial payment before the debut in the World Cup. The expectation was to use part of the prize money paid by Ezze Seguros, the club’s sponsor, for the men’s Copa do Brasil title. So far, however, no agreement has been formalized.

The Brabas take the field for the FIFA Women’s Club Championship next Wednesday (28th). Corinthians faces Gotham FC, from the United States, in the semifinal of the competition, at 9:30 a.m. (Brasília time), at the GTech Community Stadium, in London, England.
