Braga: Feyenoord submits bid for Sikou Niakaté

Sikou Niakaté is in high demand, and Feyenoord Rotterdam has entered the fray. The iconic Dutch Eredivisie club has officially submitted a €10 million offer to secure the services of Braga’s central defender. This is a serious proposal that demonstrates the club management’s intent to bolster their defense ahead of the 2025-2026 season.

The 26-year-old Malian has established himself as one of the most consistent centre-backs in the Portuguese league. Trained in France and having played for Valenciennes and Guingamp among others, it is at Braga where he has taken a significant step forward, thanks in particular to his controlled defensive aggression, clean distribution, and aerial dominance. Since joining Braga in 2023, he has made a total of 98 appearances, netting 8 goals.

According to Footmercato, the €10 million offer is considered serious but not quite convincing enough for Sporting Braga. The Portuguese side is reportedly hoping for a slightly higher fee (in the region of €12 to €15 million) to part ways with their centre-back. With a clear asset-valuation strategy, Braga knows they have a financially valuable player on their hands.

Talks are ongoing, and Braga may seek a resale percentage or additional bonuses to seal the deal. Feyenoord, meanwhile, is eager to move quickly and integrate the player before the end of their summer preparations.
