Sporting CP edged past Estrela Amadora 1-0 at Estádio José Gomes to remain second in Liga Portugal.

Daniel Bragança settled the game in the 59th minute, steering a left-footed shot from outside the box into the bottom right after a pass by Trincão.

Rui Silva protected the Leões' lead, pushing away Max Scholze's low strike (70.) as Estrela pressed.

After Hidemasa Morita's introduction, Geny Catamo struck the bar (79.). Estrela kept coming, but Rui Silva denied Otávio's header (80.) and saved from Sydney Van Hooijdonk (83.).
