Brais Méndez made an unannounced visit to Zubieta on Saturday to say goodbye to Real Sociedad team-mates as pre-season began, after his transfer to Columbus Crew for six million euros last Thursday.

According to Diario Vasco, he had not been expected but chose to return to offer his farewells.

He was seen shaking hands with Marrero in the presence of Karrikaburu and Almandoz at the training ground this morning.

The Galician embraced team-mates and members of the coaching staff, spending a few minutes with them before heading across the Atlantic to the United States.

The Mos native will no longer attend Zubieta as he has over the past four years. On Saturday morning he made a final tour of the facilities and chatted with his now former colleagues.
