Lyon have completed the signing of Endrick on loan from Real Madrid, securing the Brazilian forward for the remainder of the season.
The 19-year-old joins the Ligue 1 side in a straight loan deal that does not include an option to buy.
Lyon will cover part of Endrick’s salary during his stay, while Real Madrid have inserted performance-related clauses into the agreement.
Madrid will be entitled to additional compensation if Endrick fails to start at least 25 matches across all competitions.
That figure is flexible and may be adjusted depending on Lyon’s involvement in the Coupe de France and the Europa League.
Endrick will wear the No 9 shirt at Lyon, reflecting the central role planned for him in Paulo Fonseca’s attacking setup.
The move has already been agreed by all parties but cannot be formally registered until the January transfer window opens.
French regulations require a four-day waiting period after registration, ruling Endrick out of Lyon’s league trip to Monaco on January 3.
His debut could instead come later in January, potentially in the Coupe de France or Lyon’s subsequent Ligue 1 fixtures.
Lyon had been working on the deal for several months, with advanced talks first reported in October.
Endrick was attracted by Lyon’s proposal after struggling for consistent minutes in Madrid during the first half of the campaign.
The striker has made just three appearances this season, starting once in the Copa del Rey and featuring briefly in La Liga and the Champions League.
Real Madrid initially delayed a decision on his future in the hope that his situation would change, but it became clear he was not part of Xabi Alonso’s immediate plans.
Endrick featured more regularly during the 2024-25 season under Carlo Ancelotti, making 22 La Liga appearances despite starting only three matches.
The Brazilian agreed to join Real Madrid from Palmeiras in December 2022 and officially arrived in Spain in July 2024.
He has since made 40 appearances in all competitions for Madrid, scoring seven goals and providing one assist.
Endrick believes regular football in Ligue 1 will boost his chances of returning to Brazil’s national team ahead of next year’s World Cup.
Despite his limited minutes this season, he remains highly rated by Madrid, who view the loan as a developmental step rather than a separation.
The Brazilian already has senior international experience, with 14 caps and three goals for Brazil at just 19 years of age.
Lyon are fifth in Ligue 1 after 16 matches and remain in contention for both domestic and European objectives.
Endrick will join the squad at the end of December as Lyon prepare for a demanding run of fixtures in the new year.
