Brazil under-20s called up for two friendlies with Chile in Santiago

The Brazil Men’s Under-20 National Team was called up this Friday (22) by coach Paulo Victor for two friendlies against Chile, in Santiago, on June 6 and 9. The list released by the coach includes 25 players, who will report on the 1st in Rio de Janeiro.

Before traveling to the Chilean capital, the team will train from June 1 to 4 at Granja Comary, in Teresópolis (RJ). The delegation will arrive in Santiago on the night of the 4th. On the 5th, 7th and 8th, the national team will train at the Chilean Federation’s training center. The matches on the 6th and 9th will take place at 6 p.m. (Brasília time) at Chile’s National Stadium.

This will be the second stage of the Canarinho’s preparation for the next edition of the South American Under-20 Championship, in 2027. The first took place in March, already under Paulo Victor’s command, in the state of São Paulo, where Brazil won two matches against Paraguay, both by 3-1.

“We want to build on what we started in March, in São Paulo, and make the team increasingly consistent in the behaviors we believe in, growing not only from a technical and tactical standpoint, but also as a team, as a group, as an environment. We believe these factors are very important in the work of the Brazil National Team,” said Paulo Victor, who also highlighted the quality of the opposing side.

“Chile has a footballing school that looks to play, with very light and intense teams, and it has taken very good care of its youth categories in this cycle that is beginning. We know what we are going to face and what we are going to do in our work, thinking about development and preparation and knowing that we will face a worthy rival, one that will test us and prepare us very well for what we are seeking: to arrive consistent for next year’s South American Championship,” he added.
