Brazil weigh Hugo Souza call-up as Alisson faces World Cup risk | OneFootball

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has confirmed Alisson is only expected to return at the end of the European season, putting his World Cup place at risk.

According to Coluna Do Fla, Brazil are assessing former Flamengo goalkeeper Hugo Souza, now at Corinthians, as a potential option.

Goalkeeping coach Taffarel is in contact with Hugo and any call-up would depend on Alisson being unavailable.

Brazil are also monitoring John at Nottingham Forest. He is in fine form in England, although injuries have interrupted his season.

Léo Pereira, Danilo and Alex Sandro are seen as virtually assured of World Cup spots, while Lucas Paquetá is competing for a midfield place. The final squad will be announced on 18 May.
