An interesting rumours has come from nowhere this afternoon, with respected and well connected French transfer journalist Fabrice Hawkins claiming that PSG have contacted Man City about potentially signing Rodri.
The midfielder is fresh from winning the Golden Ball at the World Cup after a good season with City that saw him gradually get back to his best after his bad knee injury the year before.
PSG face a tough battle to land the elite midfielder. Even if City are willing to let him go, the competition is fierce.
Hawkins reports that Real Madrid “already have an agreement with the player,” while Barcelona “would also like to attract him.”
PSG executives are “considering making a move,” and see the fact that the 30 year old has one left on his contract as a great opportunity to pick up an elite player at his peak for a reasonable price. It’s genuinely hard to predict where this story goes from here, and a lot is going to come down to the player’s preferences.
Kang-in Lee has left the club, with his €40m move to Atletico Madrid confirmed today by all parties.
PSG’s top target for the window has appeared to be Yan Diomande – but they refused to pay RB Leipzig’s massive demands and now look likely to miss out on the winger.
