Brenden Aaronson has highlighted Leeds’ people, humour and football culture as the standout part of life in the city while on USA duty.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the Leeds United midfielder spoke as he prepared for the World Cup and offered warm praise for supporters.
Aaronson joined from Red Bull Salzburg in May 2022, then spent 2023-24 on loan at Union Berlin after United’s relegation to the Championship.
Back for 2024-25, he was reintegrated and played a major role as Leeds secured promotion as Championship champions.
On the club’s Premier League return in 2025-26, he produced four goals and five assists, then made the USA squad for this summer’s World Cup.
It has been a busy summer that also included his wedding, and he is now with Mauricio Pochettino’s squad before Saturday’s World Cup opener.
He featured in Saturday’s final pre-World Cup friendly against Germany and has 58 caps for his country at 25.
Aaronson also picked out playing alongside his younger brother Paxten for the USA as a career highlight, recalling the pride of sharing the pitch and anthem.
