Brentford created the first opening of the contest after nine minutes. Dango Ouattara was released into space, but a Wycombe defender recovered well to make a last-ditch tackle.
Damsgaard then went close from the edge of the penalty area. The Denmark international received a pass from Vitaly Janelt before sending a low effort narrowly wide.
Wycombe produced their first attempt three minutes later, but a side-footed shot was comfortably gathered by Caoimhín Kelleher.
Henry threatened at the other end moments later. Ouattara delivered from the right, and the left-back attacked the cross, although he was unable to generate enough power to trouble the goalkeeper.
Brentford took the lead after 25 minutes. Janelt intercepted a loose Wycombe pass and immediately released Damsgaard, who showed his composure to cleverly finish into the corner when one-on-one with the keeper.
The Bees doubled their advantage 11 minutes later. Ouattara beat his man on the right before sending a cross-shot towards the back post, where Henry arrived to tap home from point-blank range.

Wycombe reduced the deficit six minutes after the restart. The Chairboys' left winger did well to create space with a stepover before delivering into the middle, and the cross was turned in by Emre Tezgel.
Brentford responded immediately and almost restored their two-goal advantage. Sangaré found Lewis-Potter, who moved the ball on to Jaidon Anthony, but the winger’s shot was deflected wide.
Wilson made it 3-1 two minutes later following an excellent Brentford move. Lewis-Potter jinked his way out of defence and released Anthony, who squared for his fellow summer signing to finish clinically into the corner.
The striker was involved again shortly afterwards, heading Anthony’s cross back across goal towards Aaron Hickey. The Scotland international met the ball inside the penalty area but fired over the crossbar.
Anthony was denied again with 15 minutes remaining. Mathias Jensen played the winger through on goal, but the Wycombe goalkeeper reacted well to save with his feet.
The visiting keeper was called into action again when Gustavo Nunes headed a cross towards goal, only for his effort to be superbly tipped over the bar.
Brentford eventually added their fourth in the final minute through Lewis-Potter. The left-back cut inside onto his right foot and curled a superb effort towards the far corner, with the ball striking the post before finding the net to complete the scoring.
