Brentford head coach Keith Andrews has signed a new six-year contract, the club said in a statement. Andrews, 45, is tied to the west London side until 2032, with the club praising his impact and how well he fits their methods.

Brentford are seventh, five points behind Chelsea in fifth, and could surpass their top-flight record of 59 points. They face West Ham United in the FA Cup fifth round next month.

Andrews arrived in summer 2024 as a set-piece coach after Bernardo Cueva joined Chelsea. Tasked with set-pieces, throw-ins and restarts, he helped Thomas Frank’s side finish 10th in 2024-25 and they set a league record by scoring from kick-off in three straight matches.

Frank left after nearly seven years to replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur last summer. Brentford sounded out Postecoglou about succeeding Frank and spoke to other candidates, including Francesco Farioli, who had just left Ajax and now manages Porto, before promoting Andrews to his first senior managerial post.

The change came amid upheaval, with senior staff following Frank to Spurs and key players departing. Club captain Christian Norgaard joined Arsenal, Bryan Mbeumo signed for Manchester United and Yoane Wissa moved to Newcastle United after a strike. Andrews’ first match brought a 3-0 half-time deficit at Nottingham Forest, but since then Igor Thiago has looked a superstar and Kevin Schade has been more consistent.

At his unveiling, the club framed the appointment as lower risk due to their familiarity with Andrews despite his inexperience.
