Brentford host West Ham United at the Gtech Community Stadium, desperate to translate their controlled performances into Premier League points.
Keith Andrews’ side dominated possession at Old Trafford on Monday but suffered a 2-1 defeat. They have occasionally struggled to find a clinical edge when enjoying a high share of the ball. For instance, the Bees had sixty-six per cent possession against Forest but lost 2-0. However, they have historically thrived as the underdogs in matches against the current top nine teams.
European qualification remains the ultimate target for the west Londoners during the final four games. Only two points currently separate Brentford in ninth from sixth-placed Brighton in the table. To reach that goal, they must improve a home record that has seen six games without a win. They have drawn each of their last three league fixtures in front of their own fans. That said, both of their recent London derby victories have come against this weekend’s opponents.
Keith Andrews continues to manage a significant injury list involving several key first-team players. Antoni Milambo and Fabio Carvalho are both sidelined with knee issues for the foreseeable future. Rico Henry remains out with a thigh complaint, while Vitaly Janelt recovers from an ankle problem. Jordan Henderson has missed the last four games and will be assessed before the weekend. In his absence, Mathias Jensen and Yehor Yarmolyuk are expected to anchor the midfield.
Josh Dasilva provides a major emotional boost after returning to the squad following a massive injury layoff. He is unlikely to start but could play a part from the substitute bench. Igor Thiago will lead the line as he aims to add to his twenty-one league goals. Interestingly, only one of his strikes this season has come in a London derby. Dango Ouattara and Kevin Schade should provide the width to support the Brazilian striker.
Brentford predicted XI: Kelleher; Kayode, Van den Berg, Collins, Lewis-Potter; Jensen, Yarmolyuk; Ouattara, Damsgaard, Schade; Thiago
The match at the Gtech Community Stadium kicks off at 15:00 BST on Saturday, 2 May 2026.
UK viewers cannot watch the game live on TV due to the Saturday afternoon blackout. Live audio commentary will be available for fans on BBC Radio 5 Live.
