Leeds United host Brentford on Saturday night at Elland Road, with the visitors sweating on Mikkel Damsgaard’s fitness.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the attacking midfielder, who scored two and set up one in the recent win over Burnley, returned to training after sustaining a knock on Monday, left the 2-2 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers after 72 minutes, missed some sessions, and will be given every chance to feature.
Brentford remain without full-backs Rico Henry and Aaron Hickey with hamstring issues. Vitaly Janelt is sidelined with a metatarsal problem and Josh Dasilva with knee ligament damage, while Fábio Carvalho and Antoni Milambo are out for the season with ACL injuries. Leeds have a clean bill of health except for the suspended Gabriel Gudmundsson.
Head coach Keith Andrews’ side have been in red-hot away form, winning at Burnley, Newcastle United and Aston Villa. The camp is described as calm and confident, having dealt well with recent challenges, with a quietly assured approach anticipated.
Elsewhere, Tottenham Hotspur face a setback as first-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario requires hernia surgery next week. He has started all 30 of their Premier League matches and did not start the Champions League last-16 first leg against Atletico Madrid, then was summoned after back-up Antonín Kinský conceded three in 17 minutes with two notable errors. The procedure is considered minor and timed to minimise disruption. Rehabilitation will begin immediately and there is hope he could return within the next month.
