Ahead of this season's Player of the Year awards on Wednesday, revisit each winner, the season that earned them the award, and where their careers have taken them since.
Judge was named Brentford’s Supporters’ Player of the Year for 2015/16 after an outstanding campaign in which he scored 14 goals and provided 12 assists.
The midfielder was also named in both the PFA Championship Team of the Year and the Football League Team of the Year, despite his season ending prematurely in April after suffering a serious leg break against Ipswich Town.
Judge returned from that injury and remained with Brentford until January 2019, before spells with Ipswich, Colchester United and Braintree Town. The Republic of Ireland international announced his retirement from professional football in November 2025.
Dean was voted Brentford’s Supporters’ Player of the Year for 2016/17 after captaining the side throughout the campaign.
The centre-back made 45 appearances, scored three goals and was a commanding presence in a Bees team that secured another top-10 Championship finish.
Dean left Brentford for Birmingham City in August 2017, alongside Jota and Maxime Colin in the same transfer window, going on to captain the Blues, before later joining Reading. He signed for National League side Morecambe in January 2026.
Woods was crowned Brentford’s Supporters’ Player of the Year for 2017/18.
The midfielder made 40 appearances at the heart of Dean Smith’s side as the Bees recorded a fourth consecutive top-10 finish in the second tier. He also scored the clinching goal in a 3-1 win over Leeds United in December and contributed three assists.
Woods left Brentford in 2018 and has since played for Stoke City, Millwall, Birmingham City, Hull City, Bristol Rovers, Exeter City and Oldham Athletic. He joined Oldham in July 2025 and made 43 appearances in League Two this season.
Maupay was named Brentford’s Supporters’ Player of the Year for 2018/19 after scoring 28 goals in all competitions, including 25 in the Championship.
The striker also won the Players’ Player of the Year award. His league tally was the best by a Brentford player since Steve Phillips in 1977/78, and the highest by any Bees player in the top two tiers since 1937/38.
Maupay joined Brighton and Hove Albion in 2019, later moved to Everton, and returned to Brentford on loan for the 2023/24 season, scoring eight times in all competitions. He subsequently joined Marseille and spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Sevilla.
Benrahma took the 2019/20 Supporters’ Player of the Year award after a scintillating campaign in which the Algerian attacker scored 17 goals and provided nine assists.
He scored two hat-tricks during the season, against Hull City and Wigan Athletic, and was voted Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for July.
Benrahma left Brentford for West Ham United, where he scored in the 2023 Conference League final victory over Fiorentina. He later joined Lyon before moving to Neom SC in Saudi Arabia, initially on loan and then permanently in 2025.
Toney was named Brentford’s Supporters’ Player of the Year for 2020/21 after a record-breaking first season in west London.
The striker scored 31 Championship goals, breaking Glenn Murray’s divisional record, and added 10 assists before playing a decisive role in the play-offs, scoring in the semi-final comeback against Bournemouth and opening the scoring from the spot against Swansea City at Wembley as the Bees returned to the top flight after 74 years.
Toney moved to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli in August 2024, after scoring 36 goals in 83 Premier League games for the west Londoners. In Saudi Arabia, he has won two AFC Champions Leagues, netted 23 league goals in his debut season - finishing behind Cristiano Ronaldo in the scoring charts - before getting 32 goals in 31 matches this term.
Nørgaard was named both Brentford’s Supporters’ Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year for 2021/22 after an impressive first Premier League campaign.
The Danish midfielder played 35 league games, scored three goals, including home and away against Arsenal, and added four assists, while also passing 100 appearances for the Bees during the season.
Nørgaard moved slightly north, after six years in west London, to join Arsenal last summer. Joining up with his former team-mate David Raya at Emirates Stadium, the former Bees captain has made 19 appearances in all competitions, with the Gunners on the cusp of the Premier League title and in the Champions League final later this month.
Mee was voted Brentford’s Supporters’ Player of the Year in his first season with the club after joining on a free transfer.
The centre-back made 36 appearances, keeping 11 clean sheets and helping the Bees concede just 42 goals in those games. A consistent presence in defence, Mee impressed with his commitment, composure on the ball and versatility in both a back three and back four.
Mee left the club upon the expiration of his contract at the end of the 2024/25 term - having played 67 times, scoring five goals - and then signed for Sheffield United last summer. He made 15 appearances for the Blades in the Championship this season, before recently announcing his retirement.
Pinnock was named Brentford’s Supporters’ Player of the Year for 2023/24 after another impressive season at the heart of the Bees’ defence.
In 28 games, he scored twice, including in the 2-0 win at Chelsea and the 5-1 victory at Luton Town on his return from injury. Pinnock’s pace, strength, aerial dominance and ability to progress the ball were key features of his season, while he ranked among the Premier League’s leading players for clearances and aerial duels.
Pinnock is now one of Brentford’s most experienced defensive figures and senior voices in the squad, having grown from a Championship promotion winner into a reliable Premier League centre-back.
Damsgaard was named both Brentford’s Supporters’ Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year for 2024/25 after an outstanding campaign in midfield.
He featured in every game across the Premier League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup, contributing two league goals and 11 assists, while also scoring his first goal for the club in a Carabao Cup win over Leyton Orient.
Damsgaard remains central to Brentford’s midfield, having signed a new long-term contract during his award-winning campaign.
