Stade Brestois are at a turning point. The club have just lost sporting director Grégory Lorenzi, who, in his 10 years at the club, led Brest from Ligue 2 to the UEFA Champions League. In the past two seasons, Brest have consolidated in midtable in Ligue 1 on limited means.
Lorenzi is now the sporting director at Olympique de Marseille, having confirmed his move south earlier this week. There are also doubts about the manager, Eric Roy. Asked about his future at the club earlier this month, Roy was coy and suggested that he needed guarantees.
As per Romain Molina, if Les Ty-Zéfs aren’t in a rush to appoint a new SD, it is because the owners are looking to sell the club. The journalist adds that the owners value the club at €60m, which may prove to be a dissuasive figure for any potential interested party.
