According to L'Équipe, the LFP disciplinary commission has upheld Brice Samba's yellow card from Lyon on Sunday, despite Rennes submitting a review request. The decision confirms his suspension for the 34th and final round at Marseille on 17 May.
The Rennes keeper, France's number two, collected a fifth caution at Groupama Stadium. That triggers an automatic one-match ban.
The booking came after the penalty incident for Lyon's second goal in Sunday's 2-4. Afonso Moreira ran clear for a one-on-one, was checked by Mousa Al-Tamari, then fell on contact with Samba.
After the match, Franck Haise said M. Turpin told him there had been two contacts and that nothing would be changed. He felt Mousa Al-Tamari made the greater contact and accepted they would probably be without Brice for the final game.
Had the call been overturned, Al-Tamari, also one yellow from a ban, would likely have missed Marseille instead. As it stands, Rennes will probably turn to number two keeper Mathys Silistrie for the season finale.
