Brighton defender Eiran Cashin has completed a loan switch to EFL Championship side Birmingham City for the duration of the 2025/26 season.
Cashin, 23, joined Albion in January from Derby County and has since impressed coaches during his time with the club, particularly over the course of a strong pre-season campaign.
Seagulls head coach Fabian Hürzeler praised the young centre-back’s progress, saying: “Eiran has benefitted from the period he’s been with us and had a strong pre-season.
“This loan offers him the opportunity to play regularly, and continue his development. We’ll be keeping a close watch on him as the season progresses.”
Prior to signing for Albion, Cashin enjoyed a successful spell with Derby, where he progressed through the club’s youth academy to become a mainstay in the senior team.
He made his first-team debut for the Rams in December 2021 and soon cemented his place in the starting line-up, going on to make 144 appearances in total.
Internationally, Cashin has represented the Republic of Ireland at youth level, making his under-21 debut in June 2022.
The move to Birmingham City presents a valuable opportunity for Cashin to gain regular Championship experience and continue his promising development in senior football.
