Brighton fail in bid to sign Botafogo's Cuiabano | OneFootball

Brighton's attempt to sign Brazilian defender Cuiabano has been rejected by the left-back's club Botafogo.

First revealed by The Athletic on Thursday, Botafogo are not prepared to let the 22-year-old leave at this time, despite the Seagulls offering €5 million with an additional €2m.

Signed in 2024 from Grêmio, Cuiabano joined Botafogo with only 18 senior games under his belt, but has really kicked on and already made 49 appearances for the current Brasileirão champions - scoring six goals and providing six assists to date.
