Bruma will not continue at Benfica next season, with an exit gaining traction ahead of a campaign expected to begin under head coach José Mourinho. According to Glorioso 1904, the board led by Rui Costa intend to find a definitive solution for the winger in the summer window.

His limited game time and lingering fitness issues from an early-season injury have weighed in the club’s assessment. The number seven has slipped down the pecking order and is unlikely to feature in plans for 2026/27.

A permanent departure was already explored at the start of this season. Bruma came close to leaving, but physical problems curtailed the move.

Strong competition in the forward line further reduced his opportunities. The rise of Gianluca Prestianni and Andreas Schjelderup, the return from injury of Dodi Lukebakio, and the winter arrival of Rafa Silva narrowed his path.
